Fish Head Noodle (Jasmine) stands as a treasured gem in Kuala Lumpur’s bustling Pudu neighborhood, offering an authentic taste of Chinese noodle cuisine that is as comforting as it is flavorful. This unassuming noodle shop at 19, Lorong Yap Hin may not boast a glamorous setting, but it perfectly captures the soul of traditional Chinese comfort food.
The specialty here is, without a doubt, the fish head noodle soup. Generous portions of exquisitely fresh fish—often varieties like garoupa and song fish—are served tender and flaky, free from any muddy or fishy aftertaste, which speaks volumes about the quality and care in ingredient selection. The broth is richly aromatic and deeply savory, warming the soul with every spoonful. This is complemented beautifully by the chewy lai fun noodles, whose texture contrasts delightfully with the softness of the fish meat, creating a harmonious balance that leaves a lasting impression.
Several diners have praised the thoughtful addition of toppings such as coriander, crispy pork lard, and fragrant fried garlic oil, elevating each bowl into a layered, satisfying experience without overwhelming the natural flavors. The absence of condensed milk in the broth—a rarity for fish head noodle stalls—allows the purity of the soup’s essence to shine.
Despite being located in a sheltered coffee shop environment that can get quite warm, Fish Head Noodle (Jasmine) enjoys a steady flow of loyal patrons who appreciate not only its generous servings (all priced reasonably from RM11 to about RM18) but also the swift and friendly service. The stall’s operators, skilled Myanmar refugees who have embraced this craft, add a heartfelt, human touch to every interaction, making the visit feel personal and welcoming.
True aficionados of fish head noodles will find Fish Head Noodle (Jasmine) a must-visit. From early morning hours until mid-day, the place buzzes softly with culinary reverence, though on a good day, the best bowls can disappear quickly by 11 am. Whether it's the richly flavored garoupa and song fish slice beehoon soup or the generous portion of 45 pieces of fish served without frying, each dish promises a bowl brimming with comfort and tradition.
In essence, Fish Head Noodle (Jasmine) delivers much more than just a meal; it offers a genuine experience of Malaysian Chinese heritage cuisine—heartwarming, affordable, and steeped in the simple artistry of good food done well.

Though is sheltered, it can be very warm and unforgiving to eat a bowl of fish slices/ head noodle soup. The noodle soup is delicious. Lai fun is chewy so it paired well with the soft fish meat. The fish is fresh, no foul/ muddy taste. The amount you get for RM11 is substantial too. I appreciate the generosity of coriander, fried garlic oil and pork lard in a bowl. If you are a more health conscious person, probably could request for less oil version. The soup is light and sweet. You do not get those overpowering fishy flavour. For one who is after a bowl of authentic fish head/ meat noodle, this is the place for you. So after having the soup, I do not feel thirsty/ reaching out for water….soo no/less MSG perhaps (: another plus point

One of the few stalls that serves unfried fish head noodle without milk. Had "Soong" fish head noodles, very generous with 4-5 pieces of fish and the broth is flavorful. Cost only RM11.00 which is a bargain in the year 2025. They are open on Sundays as well.

No more wait as the foreign workers pair takes over to serve a speedy bowl of garoupa and fish paste for RM18 post pandemic. The soup cannot rival Little Eat Stall except on Sundays when its superior peer is closed for the Sabbath.

My go to spot for fish head noodle fix. The unfried fish head is super fresh, with delicate and tender meat that really stood out. The broth is rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced, full of flavor yet not overpowering. Generous portions too! A must visit for anyone craving authentic and hearty fish head noodles. Definitely deserving of 5 stars!

I only had 1 choice as usual whenever I visited this Corner Shop. Fish Head Noodles traditional way. Beautiful taste and cheap in consideration. But lately, most of the fish head are bones, not much meat. The operators are Myanmar refugees who have mastered the skill from a local Chinese TauGeh. Good choice.
